1What's in the box
- 50 ft yellow safety cord (cord (AD1471243500)) and a 1.5 in crush-proof hose (AD1471237500).
- 56 in two-piece S-bend aluminum wand (AD1471387500) and the 14 in Quick-Glide floor tool (AD1471383500).
- Upholstery tool (AD1471384500), round dusting brush (AD1471385500) and crevice tool (AD1471386500).
- Padded, adjustable belt system with accessory loops for the tools.

2Put it on
- Pick up the vacuum and put your arms through the shoulder straps of the harness (AD1471246500).
- Snap the waist belt clip shut and adjust its length.
- Snap the chest clip shut.
- Pull down on both ties to set the height on your back.
- For a better fit, move the strap's adjustment plate to the inner or outer position and adjust the tension ties.

3Connect the hose and cord
- Fit the hose (AD1471237500) inlet sleeve into the opening on the upper lid. Turn it clockwise about half a turn to lock it.
- Plug the 50 ft extension cord (AD1471243500) into the cord set on the machine. Always use this kind of cord: 3 × 16 AWG, 125V, type SJT or SJO.
- Hook the end of the extension cord into the snap hook on the vacuum, so the hook takes the strain off the plug.
- Plug into a grounded outlet only. Don't use an adapter.

4Turn it on and pick a tool
- The on/off switch is in its own housing on the right side of the waist belt. Tilt it to turn the vacuum on or off.
- Use the round dusting brush (AD1471385500) for furniture and the crevice tool (AD1471386500) for tight spaces such as corners and radiators.
- On the combination floor nozzle, use the brush setting for hard floors and the setting without the brush for rugs.
- Always turn the vacuum off before you connect or disconnect a power nozzle. Only some models have the power nozzle outlet.

Advance Adgility 6XP troubleshooting
Problems, likely causes and fixes from Advance's troubleshooting table.
| Likely cause | Fix | Part |
|---|---|---|
| Vacuum stops while you work | ||
| The thermal cut-out switched the motor off to protect it from overheating | Switch it off and unplug it. Check the hose (AD1471237500), dust bag (AD1471098510 / AD1471097510) and filters for anything blocking the airflow. It resets by itself after 5 to 10 minutes. | |
| Suction is weak | ||
| The dust bag is full | Replace the dust bag (AD1471098510 / AD1471097510) and shake clean or replace the main filter (AD1471100500 / AD1471099500) at the same time. | |
| The hose or a tool is blocked | Unplug the vacuum and check the hose (AD1471237500), wand (AD1471387500) and tools for a clog. | |
| Bags or filters that aren't Advance originals are restricting the airflow | Use original Advance dust bags (AD1471098510 / AD1471097510) and filters. Others can restrict the airflow and overload the motor. | |
| Vacuum isn't working right, was dropped, damaged, left outdoors or got wet | ||
| Damage inside the vacuum | Don't use it. Take it to a service center. | |

| Check the motor pre-filter (AD1471095500) often. Never run the vacuum without it. | As needed | |
| Check the HEPA filter (AD1471104500) often and replace it when it is dirty. It can't be cleaned or washed. Hold it by the plastic frame, not the filter. | As needed | |

| If the cord needs replacing, use the same type of cord the vacuum came with. | Now and then |
