Your machine
How to tell which you have
- One model: this manual covers the Guzzler high speed solution retriever, with a 30 in (76 cm) squeegee path and a 35 gal (132 L) tank.
- No motor: Aztec says the Guzzler needs no motor, battery or cord. Turning a drive wheel works its diaphragm pump.
- Honeycomb pump plate: the pump plate (item 7 on the underside drawing) is the honeycomb design, with many small holes that keep sharp objects out of the pump.
How to read this list
Our part numbers are the Aztec number with AZ in front, so Aztec 224-LQGZ is AZ224-LQGZ. Each line shows the item number on the drawing. Blue part numbers open the part page. Lines marked Call to confirm part are not listed online yet; call 800-440-6723 and we will source them. Prices were current on ; your cart always shows the current price. Have your machine serial number ready when you call.

Set up, run and look after your Guzzler. Everything here comes from Aztec’s owner’s manual, rewritten in plain steps, with the parts you need linked to the list above.
1Check it when it arrives
- Inspect the machine for shipping damage and missing parts.
- Check the chassis: the pump plate (AZ016-71-9015), the squeegee (AZ015-62-644) and the wheels.
- Find the handle hardware in the parts bag inside the solution tank.
- Report any damage or missing parts to Aztec Products within seven working days of receiving the machine.

2Mount the handle
- Thread the four studs into the steel inserts on the back of the tank. Hand tighten only.
- Put one nylon spacer, then one steel washer, on each stud.
- Fit the handle (AZ224-LQGZ) onto the studs, then put the other washers on.
- Put a hex nut on each stud and tighten it. Don’t over tighten or damage may occur.

3Pick up solution
- Sweep the floor free of debris first. Debris damages the squeegee and clogs the pump plate.
- Press down on the foot bar and lift the handle until the chassis locks down in the operating position. Don’t press the foot pedal on the right side of the foot bar.
- Push the machine a few feet forward until the squeegee (AZ015-62-644) lays out. A side-to-side motion helps it lay out.
- Walk at a normal pace or faster: the faster you go, the better it works. When foam comes out of the breather hole in the lid (AZ647-60032), the tank is full (35 gal, 132 L) and must be emptied.
- When you finish, step on the foot pedal on the right side of the foot bar to put the chassis in the transport position. Mop up the 1/4 cup of liquid left behind.

4Drain, clean and store it
- Wear eye protection and avoid skin contact with the chemicals. Solution comes out in a large, steady stream with some pressure.
- Find the discharge valve at the front of the tank and lift the T-handle to control the flow. Tip the machine forward to drain it fully without damaging the squeegee, then rinse the tank with water.
- Take the hose off the top of the pump to drain the solution past the pump. Rest the machine on the foot bar and handle, then rinse the wheels, chassis and squeegee.
- Drain the pump (AZ016-71-9500) by gently pressing the inlet flapper valve in the center of the pump plate. Flush it by holding a hose next to the flapper valve while you turn a drive wheel, drain it again and put the hose back on the pump.
- Clean it this way or you void the warranty. Drain all liquid before you store or transport it in freezing conditions.

Aztec Guzzler maintenance schedule
Aztec's squeegee, pump and leak service steps. The manual gives no hour or calendar schedule for the Guzzler, so do these when the machine needs them. Aztec asks you to keep a dated maintenance log to protect the warranty.
| Task | How often | Part |
|---|---|---|
| Adjust the squeegee (AZ015-62-644) when the floor isn’t left dry. Turn the three squeegee bolts clockwise to raise it or counterclockwise to lower it; a 1/2 turn should be enough. Snug the jam nuts and test it. Aztec’s Figure 1 shows the right profile: flat and level with the floor, with an arc about 1 3/8 in (3.5 cm) high. | As needed | |
| Clean the pump (AZ016-71-9500): take it off, wash it in warm water and clear all debris from the inlet and outlet flapper valves. Check it for worn parts. | As needed | |
| Set the pump plate (AZ016-71-9015) 1/8 in (3 mm) off the floor, about the thickness of 2 quarters. Loosen the four nuts holding the pump to adjust it. Check the foot pedal for wear. | As needed | |
| Rebuild the pump (AZ016-71-9500): take it off and replace the inlet, outlet and then diaphragm parts. Tighten the screws only until the tan hinge gasket starts to squeeze out. Check it for suction before you put it back. | As needed | |
| Fix a fitting leak: remove the fitting, clean and smooth the surface or gasket, apply silicone and reinstall it. For a leak in the tank body, contact Aztec Products. | As needed | |
| Drain all liquid from the machine before you store or transport it in freezing conditions. | Before freezing storage |

Common Aztec Guzzler parts questions
Does the Aztec Guzzler need power or batteries?
No. Aztec says it picks up without motors, batteries or cords. Turning a drive wheel works the self-priming diaphragm pump.

Why is my Guzzler not picking up liquid?
Re-prime the pump: hold your hand over the pump hose and push the machine forward quickly. If there is still no suction, check the inlet and outlet flapper valves for debris. If they are clear, the pump is worn or needs cleaning.

Notes on this parts list
Places where Aztec's drawings, parts lists and text disagree, and how this page handles them. If you are unsure, call 800-440-6723 with your serial number.
- Item 9 on the underside list (page 10) and item 22 on the general parts list (page 11) are the same chassis spring, 173-79-5589. Page 10 prints no quantity for item 9; page 11 lists 1.
- The general parts list on page 11 skips item 23, and the drawing has no callout 23. Items 10 to 19 do not appear anywhere in this manual.
- The gate valve is printed as 150-I7101, with a capital letter I after the dash, not the number 1. It is on this page as printed; call us to confirm before you order.
- The operation page (page 6) sends you to troubleshooting on “pg 8” twice. Troubleshooting is on page 9.
- The troubleshooting page (page 9) sends you to maintenance, pump service and repairing leaks on “pg 7”. Those are on page 8.
- The vacuum hose (item 28) is sold by the foot. Aztec lists 2.5 ft for the Guzzler.
- Descriptions are copied as Aztec prints them, including its abbreviations (for example Center Adjust. Bolt).
