How to tell which you have
- One model: this manual covers the UltraEdge propane concrete edger with a 13 in (33 cm) grinding width and the Kawasaki 603cc engine. Every line on this page fits it.
- UltraGrind plates: the spec sheet says the UltraEdge quick change plate system is interchangeable with the UltraGrind. This page lists only the parts in the UltraEdge manual.
How to read this list
Our part numbers are the Aztec number with AZ in front, so Aztec 152-700 is AZ152-700. Where Aztec prints a space inside a number (293-20# STLMF), our part number drops it (AZ293-20#STLMF). Each line shows the item number on the drawing. Blue part numbers open the part page. Lines marked Call to confirm part are not listed online yet; call 800-440-6723 and we will source them. Prices were current on ; your cart always shows the current price. Have your machine serial number ready when you call.

New to your Aztec UltraEdge? Start here
Set up, run and look after your UltraEdge. Everything here comes from Aztec’s owner’s manual, rewritten in plain steps, with the parts you need linked to the list above.
1Check it before every start
- Park on a level surface and check the engine oil. Take 2 dipstick readings before you add oil, and never overfill.
- Check the carburetor air filter (AZ309-11013-7049), the diamonds and the diamond plates. Set the handle height.
- Soap-test the tank, lines and fittings every time you fill or connect the LPG cylinder (AZ293-20#STLMF). Fix any leak before you run the machine.
- Never overfill the tank. It holds 20 lb of propane and a full tank should weigh no more than 48 lb. Frost on the lines or the regulator (AZ152-500) means it is overfilled.

2Install the fuel cylinder
- Take the UltraEdge to a well-ventilated area with no source of ignition within 10 ft (3 m).
- Check the cylinder for overfill, set it in the tank holding area and fasten the safety strap.
- Line up the couplers and screw them together by hand. Never use a wrench or pliers, and don’t cross-thread them.
- Open the service valve slowly. Listen for the rush of fuel to the fuel lock-out (AZ152-N3-0173-1), and stay alert for a propane smell that could mean a leak.
- To take the cylinder off, reverse these steps.
Source: Aztec UltraEdge Owner’s Manual (05-2023), pages 3 and 5. SES ref PF-GRGG-ZGVL
3Install diamonds
- Stop the engine. Close the service valve on the fuel cylinder so liquid can’t get into the regulator.
- Raise the handle and tilt the machine back until the handle rests on the floor. Never tip it on its side.
- Line up each diamond shoe with the slots in the drive pad and push it firmly into the slot.
- Look over the red flex plate (AZ040-2210) disc for wear.
- Bring the machine back to its operating position.
Source: Aztec UltraEdge Owner’s Manual (05-2023), pages 2, 4 and 5. SES ref PF-GRGG-ZGVL
4Start, run and stop
- Check the cylinder for overfill and open the tank valve by turning it counterclockwise.
- Clip the lanyard kill switch (AZ153-73459) to yourself and turn the key switch (AZ312-308-0385) to Start. Run the starter no more than 20 seconds at a time, and wait 10 to 20 seconds between tries.
- Increase the throttle while you walk very slowly. Don’t stay in one spot for more than a few seconds or you can damage the floor.
- Keep the machine away from loose tiles and other objects. The abrasives turn at about 650 rpm and can throw them.
- To stop, close the tank valve (turn it clockwise) and turn the key off. The exhaust stays hot for several minutes.

Common Aztec UltraEdge parts questions
How close to a wall does the Aztec UltraEdge grind?
Aztec’s spec sheet says it grinds and polishes within 1/4 in (0.6 cm) of walls and reaches 3 in (7.6 cm) under a 5.25 in (13.3 cm) high shelf. The grinding width is 13 in (33 cm).

How do I change the diamonds on my UltraEdge?
Stop the engine and close the service valve on the fuel cylinder. Tilt the machine back until the handle rests on the floor, then line each diamond shoe up with the slots in the drive pad and push it firmly in.

How often do I change the oil on the UltraEdge?
After the first 8 hours, then every 50 hours. The engine takes 1.8 US qt (1.7 L) with the filter removed. The engine pages say to change the oil filter every 100 hours; Aztec’s weekly list says oil and filter at 50 hours.

What oil goes in the UltraEdge gear box?
Mobilgear 630 GL90. Drain and flush the gear box after the first 100 hours, then change the oil at least every 2,500 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first.

Why does the UltraEdge meter flash every 25 hours?
The maintenance meter flashes at 25 hour intervals as an oil-change alert. It flashes only while the engine runs and resets itself after two hours, so Aztec recommends a separate log to track oil changes.

Notes on this parts list
Places where Aztec's drawings, parts lists and text disagree, and how this page handles them. If you are unsure, call 800-440-6723 with your serial number.
- Aztec prints 288-041-300 for two different parts: BELT COVER (body list, item 10, page 11) and SWIVEL BRACKET ASSEM. (handle list, item 17, page 12). Both lines are on this page as printed. Call us to confirm which part you need.
- Aztec prints two part numbers with a space: 293-20# STLMF (20# LP cylinder) and 199-NHNT-SE UND (¼” key). Our part numbers are AZ293-20#STLMF (no space) and AZ199-NHNT-SE UND (space kept).
- Three bolt numbers mix letters and digits. 164-JOC300HCS5Z and 164-5OC500BTA5Z are printed with a letter O after the first character group, and 164-18R200PC0Z with a zero before the Z. They are copied as printed; call us to confirm before ordering.
- The ¼” key 199-NHNT-SE UND is listed twice on page 14: item 17 in the diamond drivers list and item 7 in the engine list.
- 164-20159 (1/2” flat washer) appears three times: wheel axle items 3 (qty 2) and 9 (qty 4) on page 13, and engine item 9 (qty 1, printed ½” FLAT WASHER) on page 14. 164-10117-SS (3/8-16X1¼ HCS) is printed twice in the diamond drivers list, as items 9 (qty 6) and 15 (qty 1).
- WHEEL ASSEMBLY 156-040 is in both the body list (item 12) and the wheel axle list (item 15).
- Diamond drivers callout 18, DRIVE PLATE ASSEMBLY, is drawn twice on page 14: as the bracket around items 1 to 12 and as the assembled plate. Diamond drivers callout 5 is drawn three times, and wheel axle callout 4 twice (page 13).
- The engine drawing on page 14 shows a small cover piece with two screws beside items 14 and 15 that has no callout and no line in the list.
- The engine list names 312-504-0185 OIL DRAIN DRIVE; the oil change steps on page 8 call it the oil drain valve.
- Aztec spells the same nuts two ways: 164-22836 is 1/2-13 LOCK NUT (page 11) and 1/2-13 STOVER LOK NUT (page 13); 164-22834 is 3/8-16 STOVER LOCK NUT (page 13) and 3/8-16 STOVER LOK NUT (page 14). Descriptions are copied as printed.
- Page 8 prints the spark plug gap as 0.30 in (0.75 mm). 0.75 mm is about 0.030 in, so the inch figure looks like a misprint. Check the engine owner's manual or call us.
- The maintenance meter flashes every 25 hours as an oil-change reminder (page 7), but the oil change steps (page 8) and engine schedule (page 9) say every 50 hours after the first 8.
- Aztec's weekly list (page 6) says to change the oil and oil filters at 50 hours; the engine pages (pages 8 and 9) say to change the oil filter every 100 hours. This page shows both.
- The filter intervals differ by page: page 6 says to clean the carburetor pre-filter every 2 hours and change the carburetor air filter monthly (80 hours); page 7 says to clean the carburetor air filters after 4 hours and clean or replace them daily; the engine schedule on page 9 says to clean the paper element every 50 hours and replace it every 100 hours.
- The spec sheet gives an engine speed range of 3400-2200 RPM; the manual gives 1550 RPM low idle and 3400 RPM max high idle (page 8).
- The cover badge says the machine is powered by the PurePower by Aztec engine; the parts pages and spec sheet call it a Kawasaki 603cc engine.
- The operating procedures on pages 4 and 5 are lettered A, D, E, F, G, H and I. There are no sections B or C.
- The manual prints no edition date. The PDF is marked REV 05-23 and the warranty page carries the code 9739/09.11. This page calls it the 05-2023 edition.
- Descriptions are copied as Aztec prints them, including its spellings (for example OIL DRAIN DRIVE and VAC HOSE GUIDE BRKT.).
