“A dual speed floor machine earns its spot in the closet because it does two jobs. On the low 185 rpm setting the FM-20-DS scrubs and strips, and on the high 330 rpm setting it spray buffs and polishes, so one machine covers routine floor care and interim stripping instead of needing two. It is built around a heavy-duty 1.5 hp permanent magnet DC motor and a triple planetary gearbox, and the base and handle are rotationally molded polyethylene, so the body won't rust or corrode. The twist-grip handle has a safety lock, which is a good feature when several people share the machine. Tennant rates it at 71 dBA, quiet enough for schools, clinics and offices. It runs on a standard 120 V outlet with a 50 ft cord, and it comes with a pad driver. An optional 3 gal solution tank is available if you want to scrub without a mop bucket. If you only need one speed for scrubbing, the FM-20-SS is the single speed version.”
